Whether online or on paper, good design can set your brand apart from the rest. The look of the materials you produce is an important part of your brand. Here are a few platforms I would recommend if you want your materials to look neat and professional.
A part of Adobe, InDesign is a staple for many of the best graphic designers. It might take some getting used to if you’re not experienced with the type of program, but the flexibility allows you to create almost anything your mind can fathom. It is especially useful for creating posters, flyers, brochures, magazines and presentations.
In conjunction with InDesign, Photoshop can be a useful tool when in your design process. One of my favorite features is the ability to remove background from an image. Sometimes a plain square image in your design can look boring. However, by removing the background, the image’s focal point really jumps off the page of your unique design. You can also enhance the photos you intend to use for your designs.
I mentioned Canva in one of my 2017 blogs, but I still find it useful as ever. Creating a profile is free, and you can create high-quality designs in very little time. If you need inspiration for a design, you can use one of the many templates offered. You can create social media graphics, blog banners, presentations, and more.
Ceros is an interactive content creation platform geared toward marketers and designers who want to create content without coding. Their cloud-based software makes even publishing and distributing content easy. Another great feature is their analytics.
If you have a need to create visual stories, Maglr is a great option. You need very little technical expertise to get started, but there is an option for designers who prefer to start with a blank slate. The platform focuses on creating online magazines, interactive offers and sales presentations.
While this platform is only for presentations, I thought it deserved a spot on this list. Prezi can take your presentation from bland to exciting. With a little creativity, you can take your audience on a journey instead of simply talking them through facts.
Everyone has their own preference for the best graphic design platforms, but I hope you found something on this list that caters to your needs and expertise level.
